About Me

Hi, I'm Shay

At the age of 24, my life took an abrupt turn when the bus I was traveling on during a post-army trip to Nepal plunged 25 meters down a ravine, leaving me paralyzed from the neck down, completely changing my life, and the way I see life. The accident was the beginning of a new journey, one that I set out on with many fears, concerns, and doubts. I had been a completely independent young man, with big plans and big dreams, but now I found myself light-years away from realizing those dreams.

My journey was full of ups and downs, moments of despair and hope, and successes and failures. When my father saw me in hospital for the first time after the accident, he said to me: “From now on you are going to make lemonade out of lemons. You are going to make the best you can out of what has happened.” His words made me understand that in life everything is a choice – we have to choose what we do with the cards we are dealt with in life.

Over the years, I graduated with honors in economics, completed an MBA, worked as an analyst in a communications company, and married Idit. Today I give lectures about my life story and mentor people to help them overcome life’s challenges. I am also a content creator who writes about self-development, positive thinking, motivation, will power, perspective, and appreciating what we have in life.

As the years went by, I began to feel the need to share my personal story and the insights I gained as a result of my experiences, with as many people as possible. My goal is to teach the tools that helped me cope and help people reach the same insights as I did, without having to go through traumatic experiences to get there.
